What that means in practice

When you click a “Check price on Amazon” button or any product link on this site and then make a purchase, Amazon pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid arriving at Amazon any other way — the commission comes out of Amazon's side, not yours.

How it does — and doesn't — affect our content

• Commissions fund our testing. Robots, replacement pads, bags of flour, and a regrettable amount of soy sauce all cost money.
• Rankings are decided before economics are considered. Our scores come from a fixed test protocol; we do not rank higher-commission products above better products.
